Sultan-Mehmet Khan started the match with the kick off. 3 minutes into the match, Romania's goal looked a bit too open when Ricardo Viscarra came free, but Remus Pinches reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Manuel Isăilă in the 4th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Eraldo Guzman prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The Romania fans' excitement grew in the 4th match minute when Romania's Manuel Isăilă looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The supporters of Romania booed when Honduras was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Abraham Machado didn't get a good kick on the ball. Manuel Isăilă's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Eraldo Guzman read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 15th minute of play. In the 18th minute Ricardo Viscarra shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Remus Pinches saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Remus Pinches took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sultan-Mehmet Khan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Manuel Isăilă had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 27 minutes into the match, Honduras's goal looked a bit too open when Manuel Isăilă came free, but Eraldo Guzman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 28 minutes into the match, Manuel Isăilă notched a goal, 1-3, to the right of Honduras's Eraldo Guzman. Eraldo Guzman was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When the match had gone on for 33 minutes, Manuel Isăilă put it in 1-4 from a short distance just to the right of Eraldo Guzman. Hugo Barreto made in the 36th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Romania's Emanuel Mălăele. Misael Sigaran fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Remus Pinches having to interfere. In the 42nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Romania's goalkeeper Remus Pinches, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 46 minutes into the match, Romania's Manuel Isăilă sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Eraldo Guzman narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Manuel Isăilă to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 57th minute of the match Romania got a corner. Honduras's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Isac Zub ran over to the corner to take the kick. After 60 minutes Honduras's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Isac Zub who took care of the corner kick. The corner ended in Manuel Isăilă almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Honduras's Eraldo Guzman did a great save. When the match had gone on for 60 minutes, Manuel Isăilă put it in 1-6 from a short distance just to the right of Eraldo Guzman. When Marcu Voinea came up free with the goalie in the 63rd minute, the Romania fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marcu Voinea couldn't finish the play. Romania were awarded a corner in the 69th minute after Honduras's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Isac Zub took the corner. Ciprian Toma might have been able to make a better finish in the 71st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Eraldo Guzman. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ciprian Toma ran back to his position shaking his head. 77 minutes into the match, Romania's Ciprian Toma sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Eraldo Guzman narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Eraldo Guzman didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ciprian Toma went, in the 78th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-7 was the resulting score. Ciprian Toma in the 81stth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Eraldo Guzman, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Romania were awarded a corner in the 83th minute after Honduras's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Isac Zub took the corner. A nice corner shot did that Isac Zub got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Eraldo Guzman quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Romania's Alex Eugen got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 87th minute, Romania's Ciprian Toma dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-8. Hugo Barreto made in the 90th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Abraham Machado however managed to control. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ciprian Toma got free with Eraldo Guzman in the 92nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 94 minutes into the match, Sultan-Mehmet Khan notched a goal, 2-8, to the right of Romania's Remus Pinches. Remus Pinches was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Romania walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
