Modesto Gipuzkoa was slow to take the kick. During this time Argentina's players had a chance to rest. The supporters of Argentina booed when La Zabaleta was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mazinho Alcântara didn't get a good kick on the ball. 27 minutes into the match, Benedicto Naelio had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Arturo Guib. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Benedicto Naelio made a kick off. When the match clock showed 53 minutes, the score became 6-1 when Benedicto Naelio sped through La Zabaleta's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Arturo Guib. Arturo Guib made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Benedicto Naelio in the 57th minute of play. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Amado Arotza couldn't finish the play. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Argentina had won after a very even match.
