Armando Iglesias came into this competition looking anything but a contender for the title as they only finished 6th in Primera Division. Yet they made it all the way to the final by winning even matches throughout the competition. Portuguese team SC Barraida was beaten 3-1 in the QF and in the semifinal they beat a Polish team 2-1.
Dragões Vermelhos looked impressive throughout the tournament, beating opponent after opponent with a mixture of player quality and tactic smartness from the manager. A 4-0 victory against the Chinese champion was really impressive. Just as impressive was a 5-1 win against Teräskantele in the QF, a team that dominated and beat Jum Jum Give Me Some in the round prior to that again.
Despite being the hot favorite in the final,
Dragões Vermelhos' manager left nothing to chances as he fielded a slightly skewed defence in order to deal with Armando Iglesias predictible wing tactic. The opening goal of the game went to the home team, after defender Constantin Cabada tried his luck on a freekick 25 meters out after 32 minutes. Claudinho Barbosa evened the scoreline 62 minutes into the game, and the match could have looked different if Dragões Vermelhos had scored on the penalty kick they were awarded 70 minutes into the game. Instead it was the spanish NT player Haroldo Bartumeu who bagged home the winner for Armando Iglesias just 11 minutes before the end of the game. A tough defeat for Dragões Vermelhos who also lost the final in season 40. They will certainly feel deprived of the trophy, as they created significantly more chances than their opponent. Armando Iglesias is crowned the Champions Cup champion, and is also the first Spanish team to win this trophy since RGT 2005 CF won it back in season 34.

Romania against China. Short passing against wingplay. Titans Hill FC deserve credit for making it to the final using a traditional short passing tactic, with a formation commonly used by Gaia Futura 2349. If the tactic had been flipped horizontally to allow for attack through the same side as the Chinese team had his winger then the outcome could have been very different. Still a great attempt, as the match was relatively even. The winning goal came just 3 minutes before the end, and just after Titans Hill FC's Emil Andronache had received his second yellow card of the game.

Grand final - Season 46
You'll Never Walk Alone has gotten their share of 2nd place finishes in important tournaments recently, but against spanish Rapid De Talavera they got to taste victory. The match started in the worst possible fashion for YNWA, as Rapid De Talavera's English NT striker Garth Mahon scored 24 minutes into the game after a beatifully placed header. This was one of the very rare chances the Spanish team managed to create throughout the game, as YNWA proved to be a much better team. However, converting chances to goals seem to have been a big akilles heel for this Swedish team, as they have lost both Allsvenskan this season and Champions Cup last season due to ineffective strikers. For 72 minutes it looked like it would be another unfair defeat, but then Kjell Strömbom scored the all important equalizer on a header after a great cross into the box. It looked like a replay when Tommy Sjögren scored the winner just 2 minutes before full time.
