Spectators: 10302 (Terracing: 7727, Seating: 2369, VIP seats: 206) U21 Czech Republic's Michal Dosoudil started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Josef Sobota showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pompiliu Luțu, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. In the 6th minute, Pompiliu Luțu ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Josef Sobota was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. If Aleš Kokot had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Josef Sobota made a fantastic save in the 14th minute, when Mike Ross sent off a good shot on target. Mike Ross's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Josef Sobota read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 19th minute of play. In the 21st match minute, U21 Romania was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Petru Ştefulescu to maneuver through the defense. Josef Sobota made a fantastic save in the 31st minute, when Pompiliu Luțu sent off a good shot on target. Josef Sobota was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Pompiliu Luțu showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 3-0 in the 34 minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Michal Dosoudil in the 43rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Adrian Onuț saved U21 Romania from getting behind. Adrian Onuț took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jiří Klička, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 4-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Pompiliu Luțu to strike the kick off in the second half. When U21 Romania's Pompiliu Luțu in the 53rd minute got a chance for a shot 53rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye U21 Czech Republic's goalie prevented a goal. Josef Sobota made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pompiliu Luțu in the 54th minute of play. Laurențiu Cazan hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. Pompiliu Luțu kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. Mike Ross recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 66th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. U21 Romania made a substitution. Adam Maior replaced Bogdan Miheș. U21 Romania's Felix Boltașu was substituted for Iurie Iordan. Traian Ganea's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Josef Sobota read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 73rd minute of play. In the 74th minute Traian Ganea shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Josef Sobota saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 77 minutes of play, U21 Czech Republic's Michal Dosoudil made it 4-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Adrian Onuț was left in no man's land by his defense there! U21 Czech Republic's Josef Sobota played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Traian Ganea in the 84th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pompiliu Luțu in the 85th minute of play forced U21 Czech Republic's goalkeeper Josef Sobota to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 86 played minutes U21 Czech Republic got a freekick which was hit by Antonín Matys. When Pompiliu Luțu came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the U21 Romania fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pompiliu Luțu couldn't finish the play. U21 Czech Republic's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because U21 Romania had won, even though U21 Czech Republic had held more of the ball.
