Seating: 2369, VIP seats: 206) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Roodal Taitt made the kick off which started today's match. Manny Layne made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Israel Ruidiaz in the 6th minute of play. After 9 minutes, Danilo Popovič mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the U21 Peru and the U21 Trinidad & Tobago players grew even worse after the yellow card. Agostinho Zubeldia acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 10th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Frank Sooklal. Bill Kallipersad could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 11th minute of the match, but Agostinho Zubeldia made a huge save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Roodal Taitt got free with Agostinho Zubeldia in the 12th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A sloppy throw-in by Conrad Jaggernauth in the 15th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by U21 Peru's Fidensio Alamea. Conrad Jaggernauth charged in rather forcefully in the 18th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Conrad Jaggernauth the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After having played for 19 minutes, Danilo Popovič managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. U21 Peru's supporters crossed their fingers, but Danilo Popovič was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 22 minutes into the game, one of U21 Trinidad & Tobago:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Primeiro Cascos struck a weak shot in the 26th minute. Manny Layne didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for U21 Peru. After 27 played minutes U21 Peru got a freekick which was hit by Ragnar Gurbista. Agostinho Zubeldia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bill Kallipersad, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 31st minute Brian Charles Yorke shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Agostinho Zubeldia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. U21 Trinidad & Tobago were awarded a corner in the 32th minute after U21 Peru's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Lionel Hunte took the corner. Bill Kallipersad could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 35th minute of the match, but Agostinho Zubeldia made a huge save. Manny Layne took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Israel Ruidiaz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Israel Ruidiaz's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Manny Layne was relentless in the 43rd minute of the game. After 44 minutes of play, U21 Peru's Israel Ruidiaz made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Manny Layne was left in no man's land by his defense there! An unexpectedly hard shot by Israel Ruidiaz in the 48th minute of play forced U21 Trinidad & Tobago's goalkeeper Manny Layne to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Danilo Popovič stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, U21 Peru's Primeiro Cascos got a free kick in the 52nd minute. Manny Layne had in the 57thth minute some difficulties stopping Israel Ruidiaz's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. 60 minutes into the match, U21 Peru's goal looked a bit too open when Bill Kallipersad came free, but Agostinho Zubeldia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. U21 Trinidad & Tobago's Conrad Jaggernauth got his second yellow card of the match in the 62nd minute. The referee ordered Conrad Jaggernauth off the ground. A collision led to U21 Trinidad & Tobago getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Conrad Jaggernauth hit a great ball. U21 Peru made a substitution. Hori Marmol replaced Primeiro Cascos. U21 Peru made a substitution. Gennaro Gattuso replaced Gorosti Regulez. U21 Peru made a substitution. Gianluca Popolizio replaced Israel Ruidiaz. Ragnar Gurbista made a great header on U21 Peru's corner, it was just that U21 Trinidad & Tobago's Manny Layne managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 72nd minute, Danilo Popovič hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bill Kallipersad received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Agostinho Zubeldia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Manny Layne took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gianluca Popolizio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gianluca Popolizio blasted a shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Manny Layne having to make a save. Manny Layne showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gianluca Popolizio, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. If Danilo Popovič had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gianluca Popolizio might have been able to make a better finish in the 88th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Manny Layne. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gianluca Popolizio ran back to his position shaking his head. 88 minutes into the match, U21 Trinidad & Tobago's goal looked a bit too open when Gianluca Popolizio came free, but Manny Layne reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gianluca Popolizio might have been able to make a better finish in the 90th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Manny Layne. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gianluca Popolizio ran back to his position shaking his head. After some fancy dribbling in the 90th minute, Gianluca Popolizio managed to get in a good position for a shot. U21 Peru's supporters rose to their feet, but Gianluca Popolizio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Manny Layne breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Danilo Popovič recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The U21 Peru supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing U21 Peru would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
