Spectators: 10300 (Terracing: 7725, Seating: 2369, VIP seats: 206) U21 Hungary's Zsolt Soós played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dimitris Grigorakis in the 3rd minute of play. After a rather tough play, U21 Hungary's Simon Pop got a free kick in the 4th minute. Zsolt Soós made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Panagiotis Dentzas in the 5th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Panos Zindros's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Zsolt Soós was relentless in the 6th minute of the game. After 12 played minutes U21 Hungary got a freekick which was hit by Arnold Hollósi. After a rather tough play, U21 Greece's Loukas Matsinopoulos got a free kick in the 14th minute. 17 minutes into the match, U21 Greece's goalkeeper Fanis Kokkinias had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gábor Csorba. Fanis Kokkinias made a fantastic save in the 18th minute, when Gábor Csorba sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dimitris Grigorakis in the 20th minute of play forced U21 Hungary's goalkeeper Zsolt Soós to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Zsolt Soós showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Panos Zindros, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. Panos Zindros struck a weak shot in the 22nd minute. Zsolt Soós didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for U21 Greece. Panagiotis Dentzas blasted a shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Zsolt Soós having to make a save. In the 33rd minute of the match U21 Hungary got a corner. U21 Greece's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Simon Pop ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 37th minute Dimitris Grigorakis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zsolt Soós saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 40 minutes into the match, U21 Hungary's goal looked a bit too open when Panagiotis Dentzas came free, but Zsolt Soós reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Panagiotis Dentzas scored 0-2 in the 40th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Zsolt Soós, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Panos Zindros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Simon Pop fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fanis Kokkinias having to interfere. Bruce Willis's late challenge caught a U21 Greece's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bruce Willis helped the player get up and apologised. In the 47th minute there was a penalty for U21 Greece. Kostas Tomaras stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Zsolt Soós. 0-3. The U21 Hungary players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. U21 Greece were winning 0-3.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Dimitris Grigorakis made a kick off. Fanis Kokkinias came out of the goal in the 54th minute to try and stop a shot by U21 Hungary's Dávid Szentes. But to his dismay, Dávid Szentes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. Simon Pop took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 60th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Fanis Kokkinias. U21 Greece's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. U21 Hungary's Zsolt Soós proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 62nd minute of the match, managed to save U21 Hungary from getting a goal against them. 63 minutes into the match, U21 Hungary's goal looked a bit too open when Dimitris Grigorakis came free, but Zsolt Soós reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Dimitris Grigorakis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. U21 Greece's Joel Campbell was substituted for Kostas Tomaras. U21 Greece made a substitution. Nikos Chatzoudis replaced Panos Zindros. A collision led to U21 Hungary getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Krisztián Benedek hit a great ball. The supporters of U21 Greece booed when U21 Hungary was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Krisztián Benedek didn't get a good kick on the ball. 74 minutes into the match, U21 Hungary's goalkeeper Zsolt Soós had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Loukas Matsinopoulos. Panagiotis Dentzas's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Zsolt Soós firmly grabbed it by the left post. In the 86th minute Alkinoos Koskotas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zsolt Soós saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 87 minutes into the match, U21 Hungary's goal looked a bit too open when Alkinoos Koskotas came free, but Zsolt Soós reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fanis Kokkinias showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dávid Pál in the 89th minute of the match. In the 90th minute, Fondas Zacharis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Zsolt Soós took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Loukas Matsinopoulos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of U21 Greece booed when U21 Hungary was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dávid Pál didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, U21 Hungary's Krisztián Benedek got a free kick in the 96th minute. 96 minutes into the match, U21 Greece's Chrisostomos Krassanakis sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Zsolt Soós narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The U21 Greece players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
