Seating: 2369, VIP seats: 206) U21 Scotland's Edmond Muir started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of U21 Wales booed when U21 Scotland was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Christopher Laidlaw didn't get a good kick on the ball. Drew Laing showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Declan Lucas, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Tad King during the 11th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Tad King hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. Drew Laing showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edmond Muir in the 12th minute of the match. In the 14th minute of the match Christopher Laidlaw sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Drew Laing skillfully saved the ball. Donald Garrow recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 16th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tom Cepa in the 17th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nigel Fraser saved U21 Scotland from getting behind. Dylan McKelvie kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. Through an outstanding action, after 25 minutes, Nigel Fraser successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. 31 minutes into the game, Iddawg Avery was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. U21 Wales's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave U21 Scotland the free kick. 34 minutes into the match, Paul Sporran notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of U21 Wales's Drew Laing. Drew Laing was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 39 minutes into the game, Dylan McKelvie was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. U21 Scotland's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave U21 Wales the free kick. After 39 played minutes U21 Scotland got a freekick which was hit by Dylan McKelvie. In the 41st minute Iddawg Avery suffered a foot injury and had to be helped off the field. U21 Wales made a substitution. Kenn Busby. replaced Iddawg Avery. After a rather tough play, U21 Scotland's Edmond Muir got a free kick in the 42nd minute. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tom Cepa to make the kick off. U21 Scotland's Nigel Fraser played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tom Cepa in the 50th minute of play. After 51 minutes, Kynwal Kernaghan mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the U21 Wales and the U21 Scotland players grew even worse after the yellow card. Kynwal Kernaghan kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Donald Garrow got free with Drew Laing in the 55th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 56th minute U21 Scotland were awarded a corner. Christopher Laidlaw went to the cornerflag to take it. Christopher Laidlaw made a great header on U21 Scotland's corner, it was just that U21 Wales's Drew Laing managed to reach the ball for a save. 62 minutes into the match, Edmond Muir dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Drew Laing, 1-3. U21 Wales's Drew Laing played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edmond Muir in the 69th minute of play. Drew Laing was out of position in the 71 minute of play, and Donald Garrow capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Donald Garrow really showed his touch with that goal: 1-4. Kynwal Kernaghan kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. Drew Laing made a fantastic save in the 80th minute, when Donald Garrow sent off a good shot on target. In the 83rd match minute, U21 Wales was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Llyn Carrey to maneuver through the defense. Drew Laing took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Declan Lucas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. U21 Scotland had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
