The referee showed Igors Rupnieks the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Valts Polārists made the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute Oskitz Lecea shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Verners Krieviņš saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 60th minute, Benjamin Ambrosio got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Valts Polārists hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. The U21 Uruguay fans' excitement grew in the 72nd match minute when U21 Uruguay's Benjamin Ambrosio looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 4-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. U21 Uruguay made a substitution. Ilmārs Altenbergs's late challenge caught a U21 Uruguay's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Verners Krieviņš was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Verners Krieviņš took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bertin Seseña, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. U21 Uruguay were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of U21 Latvia for a fine match.
