Spectators: 10305 (Terracing: 7729, Seating: 2370, VIP seats: 206) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Alberto Blackham kicked off to start the match. In the 5th minute, Vitor Albasolo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 8 played minutes U21 Australia got a freekick which was hit by Lance Szobczak. Zuriko Amocia stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Alberto Blackham's shot from short distance in the 11th minute. The corner went over the outstretched arms of U21 Paraguay's goalie and right to Lance Szobczak. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. U21 Paraguay's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. The audience was convinced that Alberto Blackham's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Zuriko Amocia was relentless in the 14th minute of the game. With a little luck, U21 Paraguay's Zuriko Amocia got control of the ball when Paz Soekirno tried to sneak it across the goal line. Zuriko Amocia made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alberto Blackham in the 26th minute. Martinez Cuesta's late challenge caught a U21 Australia's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Martinez Cuesta helped the player get up and apologised. In the 30th minute, Martinez Cuesta hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Marcus Laughton was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 31st played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. U21 Paraguay's Zuriko Amocia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lance Szobczak in the 33rd minute of play. Zuriko Amocia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alberto Blackham in the 37th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 46th minute, Lance Szobczak managed to get in a good position for a shot. U21 Australia's supporters rose to their feet, but Lance Szobczak was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Zuriko Amocia breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Lance Szobczak recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Misael Pozuelos made a kick off. 51 minutes into the match, U21 Australia's Matthew Nelson sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Zuriko Amocia narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When Handley Convine fell near the penalty area in the 55th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored U21 Australia's protests and gave Handley Convine a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of U21 Paraguay booed when U21 Australia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Handley Convine didn't get a good kick on the ball. Zuriko Amocia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lance Szobczak, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. After 64 minutes of play, U21 Australia's Arty Clist made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Zuriko Amocia was left in no man's land by his defense there! U21 Paraguay made a substitution. Xinaro Elorza replaced Vitor Albasolo. U21 Paraguay's Hernandez Lagarejos was substituted for Ilazki Bolonga. 68 minutes into the game, Abe Rose cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-0. Zuriko Amocia was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Zuriko Amocia didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Abe Rose went, in the 72nd minute, to the upper right corner, 5-0 was the resulting score. After 78 minutes U21 Australia's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Gaskon Cortinez who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Gaskon Cortinez got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Navarro Owens quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After a defensive mix-up in U21 Australia's zone, Gaskon Cortinez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Navarro Owens came out of the goal and Gaskon Cortinez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 89th minute, Abe Rose ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Zuriko Amocia was frozen by the shot and now it was 6-0. Zuriko Amocia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arty Clist, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. U21 Australia's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
