In the 31st minute, Hrvoje Matoš got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Moldova's zone, Hrvoje Matoš stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cornel Jalbã came out of the goal and Hrvoje Matoš tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 35 minutes into the match, Croatia's Hrvoje Matoš sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Cornel Jalbã narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Hrvoje Matoš in the 38th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cornel Jalbã prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A collision led to Croatia getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Valter Defrančeski hit a great ball. Izidor Radmanović made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cornel Ciocan in the 41st minute. Izidor Radmanović showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Radu Iovu, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute.
The wind increased when Petru Corjan made the kick off in the second half. Izidor Radmanović showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Petru Corjan in the 56th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Radu Iovu in the 58th minute of play forced Croatia's goalkeeper Izidor Radmanović to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lino Pintarić hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. In the 60th minute of the match Petru Corjan sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Izidor Radmanović skillfully saved the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cornel Ciocan in the 64th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Izidor Radmanović saved Croatia from getting behind. Croatia's Filip Marinović was substituted for Tonči Jelovica. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Hrvoje Matoš in the 69th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cornel Jalbã prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, Croatia's Filip Marinović got a free kick in the 72nd minute. Moldova made a substitution. Bogdan Mereutã replaced Liviu Curcã. Moldova's Eugen Isac was substituted for Radu Iovu. Filip Marinović hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. 75 minutes into the match, Moldova's Petru Corjan broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. 76 minutes into the match, Croatia's goal looked a bit too open when Cornel Ciocan came free, but Izidor Radmanović reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Moldova's Cornel Jalbã proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 78th minute of the match, managed to save Moldova from getting a goal against them. Izidor Radmanović made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eugen Isac in the 79th minute of play. With a little luck, Moldova's Cornel Jalbã got control of the ball when Valter Defrančeski tried to sneak it across the goal line. Rafael Vida recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 85th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 87th minute Rafael Vida shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cornel Jalbã saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 89 minutes into the match, Croatia's Rafael Vida sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Cornel Jalbã narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 89th minute, Croatia's Rafael Vida dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-1. 94 minutes into the match, Croatia's goal looked a bit too open when Petru Corjan came free, but Izidor Radmanović reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
