Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Santiago Puertocarrero started the match with the kick off. Jose Ramon Manzor showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edmondo Orsini in the 5th minute of the match. After having played for 12 minutes, Santiago Puertocarrero managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. U21 Chile's supporters crossed their fingers, but Santiago Puertocarrero was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, U21 Chile's Fidelio Cristi got a free kick in the 22nd minute. Jose Ramon Manzor showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edmondo Orsini, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. When Santiago Puertocarrero fell near the penalty area in the 24th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored U21 Chile's protests and gave Santiago Puertocarrero a yellow card for diving instead. Santiago Puertocarrero hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. In the 26th match minute, U21 Italy was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fortunato Gargano to maneuver through the defense. When the match clock showed 27 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Santiago Puertocarrero sped through U21 Italy's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Alexander Falone. With a little luck, U21 Italy's Alexander Falone got control of the ball when Hisashi Mitsui tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Don Juan in the 37th minute of play forced U21 Italy's goalkeeper Alexander Falone to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 39th minute U21 Chile were awarded a corner. Poulus Santa María went to the cornerflag to take it. After taking down the ball on U21 Chile's corner Robustiano Alcantara fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Alexander Falone quite easily take care of the ball. After 41 minutes, Florian Scatena mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the U21 Italy and the U21 Chile players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of U21 Chile booed when U21 Italy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Florian Scatena didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alexander Falone made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lorencio Horta in the 44th minute of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Alvise Porro to strike the kick off in the second half. U21 Italy's Alexander Falone played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Don Juan in the 50th minute of play. Cosimo Boninsegna could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 52nd minute of the match, but Jose Ramon Manzor made a huge save. In the 53rd minute U21 Italy were awarded a corner. Edmondo Orsini went to the cornerflag to take it. When Edmondo Orsini fell near the penalty area in the 57th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored U21 Italy's protests and gave Edmondo Orsini a yellow card for diving instead. Edmondo Orsini kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. U21 Italy made a substitution. Demetrio Bucci replaced Fortunato Gargano. In the 58th minute, Edmondo Orsini hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 60 minutes into the match, U21 Italy's goal looked a bit too open when Santiago Puertocarrero came free, but Alexander Falone reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 61 minutes U21 Italy's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Poulus Santa María who took care of the corner kick. U21 Chile's Poulus Santa María was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Alexander Falone in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Robustiano Alcantara in the 63rd minute of play forced U21 Italy's goalkeeper Alexander Falone to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of U21 Chile booed when U21 Italy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Biagio Lopez didn't get a good kick on the ball. U21 Chile's Eladio Uriona was substituted for Santiago Puertocarrero. In the 67th minute, Biagio Lopez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Robustiano Alcantara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 78 minutes into the match, U21 Italy's goal looked a bit too open when Eladio Uriona came free, but Alexander Falone reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Robustiano Alcantara in the 80th minute of play forced U21 Italy's goalkeeper Alexander Falone to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Alvise Porro fell near the penalty area in the 87th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored U21 Italy's protests and gave Alvise Porro a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to U21 Italy getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Alvise Porro hit a great ball. U21 Chile were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of U21 Italy for a fine match.
