Seating: 2369, VIP seats: 206) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Bogdan Stavka made the kick off which started today's match. Ivan Ostapenko made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Javier Andueza in the 6th minute of play. If Carlos Alberto Pinto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Javier Andueza in the 18th minute of play forced Ukraine's goalkeeper Ivan Ostapenko to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 19th minute of the match Chile got a corner. Ukraine's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Pau Plata ran over to the corner to take the kick. Chile's Pau Plata was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Ivan Ostapenko in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. 26 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when Chile's Carlos Alberto Pinto fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. A collision led to Chile getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Benicio Arriaza hit a great ball. Humberto Barahona scored 0-1 in the 29th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ivan Ostapenko, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Jaume Ormachea might have been able to make a better finish in the 34th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ivan Ostapenko. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jaume Ormachea ran back to his position shaking his head. Ivan Ostapenko made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carlos Alberto Pinto in the 41st minute of play. When Volodymyr Kovalevskyi fell near the penalty area in the 47th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ukraine's protests and gave Volodymyr Kovalevskyi a yellow card for diving instead. After 47 played minutes Ukraine got a freekick which was hit by Volodymyr Kovalevskyi. Ivan Ostapenko showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Humberto Barahona, who was totally free with the ball in the 48th minute. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Humberto Barahona stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, Ukraine's Ivan Ostapenko got control of the ball when Carlos Alberto Pinto tried to sneak it across the goal line. Carlos Alberto Pinto received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Ivan Ostapenko came out and tried to block the shot, but Carlos Alberto Pinto slotted it home off the left post making it 1-2 in the 57th minute. Ukraine made a substitution. Lyubomyr Zhenyukh replaced Ruslan Bezotosnyi. Bogdan Stavka took the ball and in the 71 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Honorato Pardow. Honorato Pardow dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Humberto Barahona in the 77th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ivan Ostapenko prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When the match clock showed 77 minutes, the score became 2-3 when Humberto Barahona sped through Ukraine's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Ivan Ostapenko. Honorato Pardow showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marjan Sylych, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. After having played for 82 minutes, Humberto Barahona managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Chile's supporters crossed their fingers, but Humberto Barahona was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Chile's Honorato Pardow played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tymur Gaydamaka in the 94th minute of play. In the 95th minute Ukraine were awarded a corner. Marjan Sylych went to the cornerflag to take it. Marjan Sylych made a great header on Ukraine's corner, it was just that Chile's Honorato Pardow managed to reach the ball for a save. Chile's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
