Seating: 2369, VIP seats: 206) U21 Scotland's Irvin Dunnachie played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gábor Szabó in the 3rd minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nathan McNeilly in the 4th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Szabolcs Zolnai saved U21 Hungary from getting behind. 6 minutes had been played when some careless play by U21 Hungary's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Wayne McCaskill was slow to take the kick. During this time U21 Scotland's players had a chance to rest. Alex McCuag kicked well hit freekick during the 6th minute of the match. 10 minutes into the game, U21 Hungary's Gergely Herczegh nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Irvin Dunnachie made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gergely Herczegh got free with Irvin Dunnachie in the 13th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 14 minutes U21 Scotland's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Gábor Szabó who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Gábor Szabó got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Irvin Dunnachie quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 16 minutes into the game, Dávid Radics recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Irvin Dunnachie. Dávid Radics showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nathan McNeilly in the 26th minute of play forced U21 Hungary's goalkeeper Szabolcs Zolnai to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gábor Szabó in the 28th minute of play forced U21 Scotland's goalkeeper Irvin Dunnachie to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 29 minutes into the match, U21 Hungary's goal looked a bit too open when Aaron Doran came free, but Szabolcs Zolnai reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Irvin Dunnachie showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gábor Szabó in the 34th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Innes McIlwhom in the 35th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Szabolcs Zolnai prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Aaron Doran came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the U21 Scotland fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Aaron Doran couldn't finish the play. U21 Scotland's Irvin Dunnachie played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gábor Szabó in the 44th minute of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.
The wind increased when Dávid Radics made the kick off in the second half. Gergely Herczegh struck a weak shot in the 51st minute. Irvin Dunnachie didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for U21 Hungary. Szabolcs Zolnai made an important save on a dangerous shot by Innes McIlwhom in the 53rd minute. With a little luck, U21 Hungary's Szabolcs Zolnai got control of the ball when Nathan McNeilly tried to sneak it across the goal line. 55 minutes had been played when some careless play by U21 Hungary's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Wayne McCaskill was slow to take the kick. During this time U21 Scotland's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Wayne McCaskill almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but U21 Hungary's Szabolcs Zolnai did a great save. Csongor Bánhegyi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Irvin Dunnachie tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nathan McNeilly could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 61st minute of the match, but Szabolcs Zolnai made a huge save. In the 63rd minute, Zoltán Jósa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The U21 Scotland fans' excitement grew in the 65th match minute when U21 Scotland's Nathan McNeilly looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. U21 Scotland made a substitution. Greig McWhirter replaced Aaron Doran. U21 Scotland's Eric McAngus was substituted for Anthony McEachern. It was a well-played corner which Péter Borsó managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. If Gábor Szabó had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Irvin Dunnachie showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gábor Szabó in the 80th minute of the match. Gergely Herczegh sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gergely Herczegh received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Irvin Dunnachie tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. U21 Hungary's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
