In the 21st match minute, U21 Argentina was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Julio Roca to maneuver through the defense. Lucas Eliu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jaspar Stercks in the 22nd minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Willem-Alexander Verengen's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Lucas Eliu was relentless in the 22nd minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Narciso Sasoin in the 24th minute of play forced U21 Belgium's goalkeeper Francis Van Meel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Cláudio Ubeda fell near the penalty area in the 29th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored U21 Argentina's protests and gave Cláudio Ubeda a yellow card for diving instead. Cláudio Ubeda kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. Jerome Beton fired away a difficult shot at goal in the 30th minute. He almost succeeded, but the ball bounced in the crossbar and then went out. It was a very nice shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Narciso Sasoin in the 35th minute of play forced U21 Belgium's goalkeeper Francis Van Meel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Edgard Van Deuren made in the 39th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Jesse Van Den Hout however managed to control. Lucas Eliu came out of the goal in the 45th minute to try and stop a shot by U21 Belgium's Dean De Koster. But to his dismay, Dean De Koster quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. After the first half U21 Belgium were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Narciso Sasoin made the kick off in the second half. Honorato Sandaili took the ball and in the 54 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Francis Van Meel. Francis Van Meel dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Honorato Sandaili fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Francis Van Meel having to interfere. Jaspar Sterckss short, quick shot in the 62ndth minute got Lucas Eliu to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. U21 Belgium were awarded a corner in the 64th minute after U21 Argentina's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Paul-Louis La Rose took the corner. The corner led U21 Belgium's Paul-Louis La Rose to fire away a dangerous shot which Lucas Eliu despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. U21 Argentina made a substitution. Tomas Liberto replaced Faustino Gutierrez. If Willem-Alexander Verengen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. U21 Belgium's Sammy Engels was substituted for Emanuel Van der Willeghem. Lucas Eliu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wout De Wachter in the 80th minute of play. Dean De Koster kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. In the 88th match minute, U21 Belgium was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Samuel Van Meenen to maneuver through the defense. In the 92nd minute, Julio Roca made a precise shot to the right of Francis Van Meel. U21 Belgium's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-1. U21 Belgium's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
