Seating: 2369, VIP seats: 206) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Torben Schwärzler took the kick off in the first half of the match. Bastian Pretzer showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Thomas Belliger, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. In the 13th minute, Daniel Tschida hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 14th minute Helmuth Chiavetta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bastian Pretzer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Switzerland's Romain Eigner in the 16th minute got a chance for a shot 16th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. An unexpectedly hard shot by Helmuth Chiavetta in the 47th minute of play forced Austria's goalkeeper Bastian Pretzer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Helmuth Chiavetta made a kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Torben Schwärzler in the 55th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Bob Achen saved Switzerland from getting behind. Bob Achen stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Torben Schwärzler's shot from short distance in the 59th minute. Bob Achen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Andre Kalvelage, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Torben Schwärzler fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bob Achen having to interfere. Austria's Bastian Pretzer played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Harry Pfaff in the 68th minute of play. Bastian Pretzer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Romain Eigner in the 70th minute of play. Bastian Pretzer stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Romain Eigner's shot from short distance in the 71st minute. Bob Achen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Torben Schwärzler, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Switzerland had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
