Baladi Gurbista was slow to take the kick. During this time Peru's players had a chance to rest. Peru's Pudes Boiro proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 18th minute of the match, managed to save Peru from getting a goal against them. Fabio Quintero showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jeffrey Ramon in the 22nd minute of the match. Fabio Quintero made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jeffrey Ramon in the 23rd minute of play. 24 minutes had been played when some careless play by Panama's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Baladi Gurbista was slow to take the kick. During this time Peru's players had a chance to rest. Panama's Fabio Quintero played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zelipe Baz in the 35th minute of play. In the 37th minute Edur Ojesto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fabio Quintero saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Wilfredo Barrera replaced Francesco Espino. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Zelipe Baz to strike the kick off in the second half. Jorge Ramos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pudes Boiro having to interfere. 61 minutes into the match, Peru's goal looked a bit too open when Calito Escalona came free, but Pudes Boiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fabio Quintero was out of position in the 63 minute of play, and Zelipe Baz capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Zelipe Baz really showed his touch with that goal: 0-2. Peru made a substitution. Joseph Reyes replaced Efrain Cerda. Panama made a substitution. Max Osorio replaced Calito Escalona. Peru's Tiadoro Hubieta was substituted for Imanol Caballero. Pudes Boiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Max Osorio in the 69th minute of play. When Max Osorio came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the Panama fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Max Osorio couldn't finish the play. In the 75th minute, Peru's Joseph Reyes seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Joseph Reyes the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Peru protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Joseph Reyes had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. After 74 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Peru! In the 79th minute, Peru's Jeffrey Ramon ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Fabio Quintero. Fabio Quintero yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-3. Pudes Boiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Max Osorio in the 83rd minute of play. After having played for 84 minutes, Baladi Gurbista managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Peru's supporters crossed their fingers, but Baladi Gurbista was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 87 minutes into the match, Panama's goalkeeper Fabio Quintero had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Baladi Gurbista. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Max Osorio in the 88th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Pudes Boiro saved Peru from getting behind. Fabio Quintero didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jeffrey Ramon went, in the 93rd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-4 was the resulting score. In the 97th minute, Baladi Gurbista got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When the final whistle sounded Peru left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Panama.
