Marius Cociu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rauno Paadam in the 10th minute of the match. 13 minutes into the match, U21 Moldova's goal looked a bit too open when Rauno Paadam came free, but Marius Cociu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 22 played minutes U21 Estonia got a freekick which was hit by Arvo Heido. Marius Cociu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rauno Paadam, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. After a rather tough play, U21 Estonia's Magnus Kask got a free kick in the 24th minute. Magnus Kask did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-1 to the left of a surprised Marius Cociu 26 minutes into the match. 29 minutes into the match, U21 Moldova's goalkeeper Marius Cociu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rauno Paadam. Iulian Vizitiu struck a weak shot in the 31st minute. Jaanus Oinak didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for U21 Moldova. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eugen Isac in the 34th minute of play forced U21 Estonia's goalkeeper Jaanus Oinak to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rhesos Balouris charged in rather forcefully in the 42nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Rhesos Balouris the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 42nd match minute, U21 Estonia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rhesos Balouris to maneuver through the defense. When Eugen Isac came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the U21 Moldova fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eugen Isac couldn't finish the play.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Magnus Kask made a kick off. 56 minutes into the game, Rauno Paadam cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Marius Cociu was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Eugen Isac sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Marius Cociu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Magnus Kask in the 66th minute of play. Marius Cociu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Magnus Kask, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. U21 Moldova's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave U21 Estonia the free kick. After 92 played minutes U21 Moldova got a freekick which was hit by Tudor Ciocan. 94 minutes into the game, Elmo Okapuu cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-1. Marius Cociu was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. For all the effort they put into the match, the U21 Moldova players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for U21 Estonia.
