Seating: 2369, VIP seats: 206) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Ukko Mattila made the kick off which started today's match. Leif Kuoppala made a fantastic save in the 5th minute, when Edvin Wallmark sent off a good shot on target. Per-Arne Rudqvist showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Maria Magdalena in the 7th minute of the match. Through an outstanding action, after 12 minutes, Leif Kuoppala successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Sweden's Per-Arne Rudqvist played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ukko Mattila in the 14th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Maria Magdalena in the 19th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Per-Arne Rudqvist prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 22ndth minute of the game Edvin Wallmark who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Finland's Leif Kuoppala was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Leif Kuoppala made an important save on a dangerous shot by Edvin Wallmark in the 30th minute. A collision led to Finland getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Marko Salmela hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Finland's Aimo Väisänen got a free kick in the 35th minute. In the 36th minute, Sören Jespersson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 45th match minute, Finland was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ukko Mattila to maneuver through the defense. Aimo Väisänen's late challenge caught a Sweden's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Aimo Väisänen helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Finland's Aimo Väisänen got a free kick in the 46th minute. 48 minutes into the match, Finland's goal looked a bit too open when Sören Jespersson came free, but Leif Kuoppala reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.
The corner ended in Atte Mustonen almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Sweden's Per-Arne Rudqvist did a great save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edvin Wallmark in the 61st minute of play forced Finland's goalkeeper Leif Kuoppala to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Per-Arne Rudqvist showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Maria Magdalena in the 66th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Finland defense, Edvin Wallmark kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Leif Kuoppala. The Finland fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Leif Kuoppala should have stopped the shot. Sweden's Jonny Tomasson was substituted for Fredrik Mattsson. Finland made a substitution. Ville Harikkala replaced Nikolai Hakaniemi. In the 75th minute Oskar Spets shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leif Kuoppala saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sweden were awarded a corner in the 77th minute after Finland's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Sören Jespersson took the corner. Finland's Leif Kuoppala played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sidney Crosby in the 79th minute of play. Per-Arne Rudqvist made a fantastic save in the 82nd minute, when Ukko Mattila sent off a good shot on target. Leif Kuoppala showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sidney Crosby, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. In the 87th minute of the match Sweden got a corner. Finland's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Sören Jespersson ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Jonny Tomasson got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Leif Kuoppala quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. When the match clock showed 87 minutes, the score became 2-0 when Edvin Wallmark sped through Finland's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Leif Kuoppala. 91 minutes into the match, Sweden's goal looked a bit too open when Maria Magdalena came free, but Per-Arne Rudqvist reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Edvin Wallmark received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Leif Kuoppala tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. André Apelqvist made in the 94th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Finland's Petri Ylänen. With his leg Per-Arne Rudqvist managed to avoid a goal in the 96thth minute, when Finland's Ukko Mattila fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. When the referee ended the match the Sweden players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
