Seating: 2369, VIP seats: 206) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Lourenco Cuenllas started the match with the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by John John Obi in the 3rd minute of play forced U21 Peru's goalkeeper Lev Yashim to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 8thth minute of the game John John Obi who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but U21 Peru's Lev Yashim was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Lev Yashim stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of John John Obi's shot from short distance in the 8th minute. When John John Obi came up free with the goalie in the 11th minute, the U21 Brazil fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that John John Obi couldn't finish the play. Lev Yashim stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of John John Obi's shot from short distance in the 13th minute. A collision led to U21 Brazil getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Igor Cavaleiro hit a great ball. 15 minutes into the match, U21 Brazil's goal looked a bit too open when Ilixo Maza came free, but Rodrigo Valle reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 16th minute of the match U21 Peru got a corner. U21 Brazil's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Renato Tapia ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Renato Tapia got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Rodrigo Valle quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 18th minute the ball was on its way in behind U21 Peru's goalkeeper Lev Yashim, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Valério Pimenta made a great header on U21 Brazil's corner, it was just that U21 Peru's Lev Yashim managed to reach the ball for a save. Ilixo Maza scored 1-0 in the 21st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Rodrigo Valle, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Valério Pimenta hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. 32 minutes into the match, U21 Brazil's John John Obi sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Lev Yashim narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Cordarin Caniego made in the 39th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Renato Tapia however managed to control. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Igor Cavaleiro to make the kick off. Lev Yashim stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of John John Obi's shot from short distance in the 60th minute. 62 minutes into the game, Cordarin Caniego was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. U21 Peru's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave U21 Brazil the free kick. After 63 played minutes U21 Peru got a freekick which was hit by Cordarin Caniego. After a rather tough play, U21 Peru's Cordarin Caniego got a free kick in the 64th minute. U21 Peru made a substitution. Andrei Arshavin replaced Lourenco Cuenllas. U21 Brazil's Bernardo Meireles was substituted for John John Obi. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Bernardo Meireles in the 78th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Lev Yashim prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The U21 Brazil fans' excitement grew in the 84th match minute when U21 Brazil's Bernardo Meireles looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Bernardo Meireles had several of the U21 Peru's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 90 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-2 score and a disappointed Lev Yashim as he didn't even see the shot coming. With a little luck, U21 Peru's Lev Yashim got control of the ball when Bernardo Meireles tried to sneak it across the goal line.
