Seating: 2369, VIP seats: 206) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Johnny Strömbom made the kick off which started today's match. Johnny Strömbom fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edmund Kasprzykowski having to interfere. 6 minutes into the match, U21 Sweden's goal looked a bit too open when Ryszard Ludwa came free, but Bernt Hedvall reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 8 minutes into the match, U21 Poland's goal looked a bit too open when Tommy Gadd came free, but Edmund Kasprzykowski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 8th minute, Tommy Gadd ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Edmund Kasprzykowski was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. U21 Sweden's Bernt Hedvall played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adam Kosmatka in the 11th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Filip Lux in the 15th minute of play forced U21 Sweden's goalkeeper Bernt Hedvall to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 17 minutes into the match, U21 Poland's goal looked a bit too open when Tommy Gadd came free, but Edmund Kasprzykowski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bogumil Mierzwa charged in rather forcefully in the 19th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Bogumil Mierzwa the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Slawomir Naumowicz kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. Tommy Gadd might have been able to make a better finish in the 34th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Edmund Kasprzykowski. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tommy Gadd ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tommy Gadd in the 34th minute of play forced U21 Poland's goalkeeper Edmund Kasprzykowski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tommy Gadd in the 35th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Edmund Kasprzykowski prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After having played for 40 minutes, Johnny Strömbom managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. U21 Sweden's supporters crossed their fingers, but Johnny Strömbom was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to U21 Poland getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Milosz Bilicki hit a great ball. In the 44th minute, Ralf-Bertil Larsson ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Edmund Kasprzykowski was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.
In the 55th minute Ryszard Ludwa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bernt Hedvall saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of U21 Poland booed when U21 Sweden was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Peter Möllgren didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the match had gone on for 91 minutes, Peter Möllgren put it in 4-2 from a short distance just to the right of Edmund Kasprzykowski. With his leg Bernt Hedvall managed to avoid a goal in the 94thth minute, when U21 Poland's Radomil Brudzisz fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After 97 played minutes U21 Sweden got a freekick which was hit by Peter Möllgren.
