Seating: 2370, VIP seats: 206) In the 4th minute the ball was on its way in behind U21 Czech Republic's goalkeeper Vavřinec Šeděnka, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lubomír Hůlka in the 6th minute of play forced U21 Austria's goalkeeper Ralf Beckers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 13 minutes into the match, U21 Austria's goal looked a bit too open when Lubomír Hůlka came free, but Ralf Beckers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 15th minute, Bobbi Schweiger got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 19th match minute, U21 Czech Republic was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lubomír Hůlka to maneuver through the defense. Daniel Bělohlávek's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ralf Beckers read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 25th minute of play. U21 Czech Republic's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Ernest Nechanický in the 27th minute. The corner ended in Ernest Nechanický almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but U21 Austria's Ralf Beckers did a great save. Lubomír Hůlka fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ralf Beckers having to interfere. The supporters of U21 Austria booed when U21 Czech Republic was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lubomír Hůlka didn't get a good kick on the ball. U21 Austria's Ralf Beckers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Bělohlávek in the 37th minute of play. Verner Knížek blasted a shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ralf Beckers having to make a save. U21 Austria's Ralf Beckers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Bělohlávek in the 42nd minute of play. Vavřinec Šeděnka showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Stefan Greil, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.
When Jakub Podzemský fell near the penalty area in the 53rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored U21 Czech Republic's protests and gave Jakub Podzemský a yellow card for diving instead. Heli Moser sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Ivo Toth charged in rather forcefully in the 55th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ivo Toth the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Ivo Toth kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. Ivo Toth recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 62nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stefan Greil in the 68th minute of play forced U21 Czech Republic's goalkeeper Vavřinec Šeděnka to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. U21 Czech Republic's Ivo Toth got his second yellow card of the match in the 70th minute. The referee ordered Ivo Toth off the ground. U21 Czech Republic's Jan Jan was substituted for Tomáš Čermák. Ivo Toth hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tom Schopp in the 73rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Vavřinec Šeděnka saved U21 Czech Republic from getting behind. After 75 minutes of play, U21 Austria's Stefan Greil made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Vavřinec Šeděnka was left in no man's land by his defense there! Vavřinec Šeděnka made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Stefan Greil in the 79th minute of play. In the 89th minute Stefan Greil shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vavřinec Šeděnka saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 90 played minutes U21 Czech Republic got a freekick which was hit by Lubomír Hůlka. U21 Czech Republic made a substitution. Jiří Zukal replaced Daniel Bělohlávek. The supporters of U21 Austria booed when U21 Czech Republic was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lubomír Hůlka didn't get a good kick on the ball. Vavřinec Šeděnka came out of the goal in the 94th minute to try and stop a shot by U21 Austria's Tom Schopp. But to his dismay, Tom Schopp quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The U21 Austria fans cheered their team off the field, for while U21 Czech Republic had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
