In the 14th match minute, U21 Denmark was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Klement Herforth to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of U21 Chile booed when U21 Denmark was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Terkel Skjødsholm didn't get a good kick on the ball. Kay Gamsen made a fantastic save in the 16th minute, when Honorato Villouta sent off a good shot on target. The throw-in from Miguel Ángel Serey in the 17th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by U21 Denmark's Freddi Søvold. When Szilveszter Szuper came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the U21 Denmark fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Szilveszter Szuper couldn't finish the play. 27 minutes into the match, U21 Denmark's goal looked a bit too open when Manuel Villalobos came free, but Kay Gamsen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Kay Gamsen made a fantastic save in the 28th minute, when Manuel Villalobos sent off a good shot on target. In the 31st minute Szilveszter Szuper shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sergio Livingstone saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. U21 Denmark's Kay Gamsen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Manuel Villalobos in the 32nd minute of play. Sergio Livingstone showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Klement Herforth, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. A sloppy throw-in by Miguel Ángel Serey in the 42nd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by U21 Denmark's Freddi Søvold. In the 45th minute, Miguel Ángel Serey hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. U21 Chile's Sergio Livingstone played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Szilveszter Szuper in the 47th minute of play.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Manuel Villalobos was the one to do the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in U21 Denmark's zone, Ireno Young stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kay Gamsen came out of the goal and Ireno Young tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Szilveszter Szuper had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 55 minutes, Klement Herforth managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. U21 Denmark's supporters crossed their fingers, but Klement Herforth was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 59th minute, Sebastian Rozental ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Kay Gamsen was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. Sergio Livingstone took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Klement Herforth, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 63 minutes had been played when some careless play by U21 Chile's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Marco Ravntoft was slow to take the kick. During this time U21 Denmark's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Szilveszter Szuper got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Sergio Livingstone quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After 63 minutes, Szilveszter Szuper made it 2-1 with a short kick to the right side. U21 Chile's Sergio Livingstone tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. The supporters of U21 Chile booed when U21 Denmark was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marco Ravntoft didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Szilveszter Szuper got free with Sergio Livingstone in the 87th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
