The audience thought a goal was coming when Berishaj Debatik got free with Ulrich Haupt in the 10th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ulrich Haupt didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Rodolf Leka went, in the 14th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. With an all-out effort, Albania's Ulrich Haupt threw himself towards the right post 19 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Rodolf Leka, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Isallari Mërgim could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 20th minute of the match, but Ulrich Haupt made a huge save. In the 21stth minute of the game Dominik Jensen who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Albania's Drino Lila was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 24 minutes into the match, Albania's goal looked a bit too open when Dominik Jensen came free, but Drino Lila reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Drino Lila showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dominik Jensen, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. Austria's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Steffen Burmeister in the 26th minute. The corner led Austria's Steffen Burmeister to fire away a dangerous shot which Drino Lila despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 30th minute of the match Albania got a corner. Austria's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Ulrich Haupt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Isallari Mërgim in the 44th minute of the match. Dominik Jensen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Drino Lila tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Daniel Reinhard in the 90th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Drino Lila prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The supporters of Albania booed when Austria was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Steffen Burmeister didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, Albania's Drino Lila got control of the ball when Yasar Linz tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Austria's Yasar Linz, in the 97th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Austria. Albania's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
