Spectators: 38 (Terracing: 29, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Håkan Lindgren took the kick off in the first half of the match. In the 3rd minute, Håkan Lindgren reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Teodosio Sergi. The goal made the score 1-0. Velez Sarsfield's Teodosio Sergi proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 8th minute of the match, managed to save Velez Sarsfield from getting a goal against them. Velez Sarsfield's Marcos Pacifico quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Valter Ahlerot, made in the 10th minute of the game. 11 minutes into the match, Brothers of Mercy's goal looked a bit too open when Augusto Cordario came free, but Ni Jun Sha reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Håkan Lindgren had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 18th minute, Christer Valler reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Teodosio Sergi. The goal made the score 2-0. Ni Jun Sha showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Augusto Cordario in the 30th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Håkan Lindgren in the 36th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Teodosio Sergi prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Velez Sarsfield's Augusto Cordario got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A sloppy throw-in by Sivert Frisck in the 40th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Velez Sarsfield's Marcos Pacifico. The supporters of Brothers of Mercy booed when Velez Sarsfield was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marcos Pacifico didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 45th minute Håkan Lindgren shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Teodosio Sergi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Augusto Cordario to make the kick off. After 55 minutes of play, Brothers of Mercy's Håkan Lindgren made it 4-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Teodosio Sergi was left in no man's land by his defense there! Velez Sarsfield's Teodosio Sergi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Håkan Lindgren in the 59th minute of play. Ni Jun Sha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Augusto Cordario in the 63rd minute of play. Brothers of Mercy's Sivert Frisck managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Marcos Pacifico in the 64 minute of the game. Teodosio Sergi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Håkan Lindgren in the 65th minute of the match. In the 66th minute Brothers of Mercy were awarded a corner. Di Yi Yuan went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Di Yi Yuan almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Velez Sarsfield's Teodosio Sergi did a great save. Velez Sarsfield made a substitution. Filomeno Montrell replaced Javier Pinola. Brothers of Mercy's attentive Sivert Frisck managed to snatch the ball when Marcos Pacifico made a throw-in in the 77th minute of the game. After some careless play in the Velez Sarsfield defense, Håkan Lindgren kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Teodosio Sergi. The Velez Sarsfield fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Teodosio Sergi should have stopped the shot. Augusto Cordario struck a weak shot in the 83rd minute. Ni Jun Sha didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Velez Sarsfield.
