The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of C. A. Pipon Pipon booed when Lokomotiv Bornova was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ömür Bürge didn't get a good kick on the ball. C. A. Pipon Pipon's Al Whatley got a good chance for a goal in the 7th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Sezai Yura made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Beto Montenegro in the 12th minute of play. Jannes Ruttens stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Germanas Judeikis's shot from short distance in the 14th minute. In the 15th play minute Beto Montenegro came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Sezai Yura. 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Beto Montenegro in the 21st minute of play forced Lokomotiv Bornova's goalkeeper Sezai Yura to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 25th minute, Justus Lintorf hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 26 minutes, Ahmet Korcan Gökalp managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lokomotiv Bornova's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ahmet Korcan Gökalp was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jannes Ruttens didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Germanas Judeikis went, in the 28th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. 32 minutes into the match, Lokomotiv Bornova's Germanas Judeikis sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jannes Ruttens narrowly saved just below the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Germanas Judeikis in the 34th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jannes Ruttens saved C. A. Pipon Pipon from getting behind. 37 minutes into the match, Lokomotiv Bornova's Germanas Judeikis sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jannes Ruttens narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Germanas Judeikis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. A collision led to C. A. Pipon Pipon getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Justus Lintorf hit a great ball. When Ahmet Korcan Gökalp came up free with the goalie in the 43rd minute, the Lokomotiv Bornova fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ahmet Korcan Gökalp couldn't finish the play. Sezai Yura made an important save on a dangerous shot by Beto Montenegro in the 45th minute. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Beto Montenegro to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Germanas Judeikis got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Sezai Yura made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cesario Irazu in the 55th minute of play. After some careless play in the C. A. Pipon Pipon defense, Germanas Judeikis kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jannes Ruttens. The C. A. Pipon Pipon fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jannes Ruttens should have stopped the shot. 60 minutes into the match, Lokomotiv Bornova's goal looked a bit too open when Nicky Bryson came free, but Sezai Yura reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 62nd minute Cesario Irazu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sezai Yura saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Lokomotiv Bornova getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Sérgio Moreira hit a great ball. In the 64th minute of the match Al Whatley shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Sezai Yura showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Jannes Ruttens showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Germanas Judeikis, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. Lokomotiv Bornova's Sezai Yura played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Beto Montenegro in the 69th minute of play. 70 minutes into the match, Lokomotiv Bornova's Germanas Judeikis sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jannes Ruttens narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 72nd minute, Nicky Bryson managed to get in a good position for a shot. C. A. Pipon Pipon's supporters rose to their feet, but Nicky Bryson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sezai Yura breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. C. A. Pipon Pipon's Benito Morin was substituted for Al Whatley. Jannes Ruttens didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Germanas Judeikis went, in the 79th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. 84 minutes into the game, C. A. Pipon Pipon's Beto Montenegro nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Sezai Yura made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-3. C. A. Pipon Pipon made a substitution. Jose José replaced Bozhin Bishkarov. Jose José took the ball and in the 91 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Sezai Yura. Sezai Yura dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-3. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
