Sixten Bokelund could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 8th minute of the match, but Eduardo Pereyra made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kacper Hazard in the 9th minute of play forced New York Red Bulls's goalkeeper Eduardo Pereyra to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Sparta LKS getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Tymoteusz Buczko hit a great ball. 14 minutes into the match, New York Red Bulls's goal looked a bit too open when Sixten Bokelund came free, but Eduardo Pereyra reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. New York Red Bulls's Eduardo Pereyra played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kacper Hazard in the 20th minute of play. Grzegorz Olszewski showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Basarab Panduru, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. Marko Vooro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Eduardo Pereyra tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. New York Red Bulls's Berkan Temel got a good chance for a goal in the 47th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The coaching staff of New York Red Bulls protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Dario Cinalli had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. Eduardo Pereyra took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sixten Bokelund, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Eduardo Pereyra showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sixten Bokelund in the 70th minute of the match. Grzegorz Olszewski showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marian Balint, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. Eduardo Pereyra didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Sixten Bokelund went, in the 74th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. After 76 played minutes Sparta LKS got a freekick which was hit by Gwidon Harasimowicz. If Basarab Panduru had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Grzegorz Olszewski showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Basarab Panduru, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. Kacper Hazard hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. The audience was convinced that Sixten Bokelund's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Eduardo Pereyra was relentless in the 86th minute of the game. 88 minutes into the game, Sparta LKS's Kacper Hazard nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Eduardo Pereyra made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-0. Cazimir Giosu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Grzegorz Olszewski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marian Balint in the 94th minute of play. Eduardo Pereyra showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sixten Bokelund, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. New York Red Bulls's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
