Rune Jarstein showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bob Hinkler, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. After 21 played minutes Sentimiento Auriazul got a freekick which was hit by Jay Marriot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bob Hinkler in the 23rd minute of play forced Hertha 1969's goalkeeper Rune Jarstein to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Santiago Cañizares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wilhelm Nienhaus, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. Wilhelm Nienhaus took the ball and in the 68 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Santiago Cañizares. After a defensive mix-up in Sentimiento Auriazul's zone, Benedikt Bensch stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Santiago Cañizares came out of the goal and Benedikt Bensch tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
