In the 12th minute Teodosio Figueroa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lev Yashin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cleto Firmin got free with Lev Yashin in the 13th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 14 minutes into the match, Argentina's goal looked a bit too open when Teodosio Figueroa came free, but Lev Yashin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Carlos Eufrasio in the 16th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Loco Malo saved Lagrima en Jarrita from getting behind. Lev Yashin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Teodosio Figueroa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Argentina's Benedicto Naelio was substituted for Vicente Nevada. An unexpectedly hard shot by Roman Gregory in the 56th minute of play forced Lagrima en Jarrita's goalkeeper Loco Malo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Argentina's attentive Gregorio Urtsin managed to snatch the ball when Edinho Baresi made a throw-in in the 91st minute of the game. In the 94th minute, Benedicto Naelio reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Loco Malo. The goal made the score 0-5. Benedicto Naelio struck a weak shot in the 97th minute. Loco Malo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Argentina. The Argentina players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
