The supporters of Buritama Sports booed when Esperance was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gleb Elkibaev didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 6th minute Abelardo da Fonseca shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leon Zdrojowy saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Murilo Ferreira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marat Markov, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Abelardo da Fonseca in the 10th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Leon Zdrojowy prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With a little luck, Buritama Sports's Murilo Ferreira got control of the ball when Gleb Elkibaev tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Gleb Sorokin fell near the penalty area in the 20th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Esperance's protests and gave Gleb Sorokin a yellow card for diving instead. In the 20th minute, Gleb Sorokin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 21st minute, Alexsandro Aguiar managed to get in a good position for a shot. Buritama Sports's supporters rose to their feet, but Alexsandro Aguiar was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. A throw-in in the 32nd minute of the game was made by Silvinho Lago with Vito Senna as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Leon Zdrojowy showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Abelardo da Fonseca, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. Leon Zdrojowy made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alexsandro Aguiar in the 41st minute of play. After the first half Buritama Sports were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
