Javier Tono didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Andrea Gambini went, in the 4th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Didier Gobbelijns showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tosun Paşa in the 10th minute of the match. Kent Sandström hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. Didier Gobbelijns took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tosun Paşa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Andrea Gambini in the 24th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Javier Tono saved Vaqueteros FC from getting behind. Andrea Gambini recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 27th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 30th minute, Andrea Gambini managed to get in a good position for a shot. Coviolo's supporters rose to their feet, but Andrea Gambini was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Javier Tono breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the match had gone on for 35 minutes, Tosun Paşa took a quick shot and it went in 1-2 without a chance for Didier Gobbelijns to make any attempt to save it. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tosun Paşa in the 43rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Didier Gobbelijns prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 47 minutes into the game, Coviolo's Andrea Gambini nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Javier Tono made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. After the first half Coviolo were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tosun Paşa was the one to do the kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Billie Whitman during the 53rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Javier Tono showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from 姚军耀, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. 93 minutes into the match, Vaqueteros FC's goal looked a bit too open when 姚军耀 came free, but Javier Tono reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Coviolo were awarded a corner in the 99th minute after Vaqueteros FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Marcos Elequemedo took the corner. After taking down the ball on Coviolo's corner Marcos Elequemedo fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Javier Tono quite easily take care of the ball. The Coviolo supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Coviolo would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
