The referee ignored Parfrente FC's protests and gave Manoel Barbosa a yellow card for diving instead. 17 minutes into the match, Parfrente FC's goalkeeper Haroldo Chaves had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Fabinho Arruda. Osmar Proença's late challenge caught a MelissaMel's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Osmar Proença helped the player get up and apologised. In the 17th minute, Osmar Proença hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 19th minute, Kaká Dante hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 22nd minute, Murilo Alcântara ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ramón Toscano was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Dagoberto Fonseca blasted a shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Haroldo Chaves having to make a save. In the 32nd minute Dagoberto Fonseca shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Haroldo Chaves saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Diego Borges's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Haroldo Chaves was relentless in the 34th minute of the game. The audience thought a goal was coming when Fabinho Arruda got free with Haroldo Chaves in the 35th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Haroldo Chaves took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dagoberto Fonseca, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Kaká Dante in the 54th minute of play forced Parfrente FC's goalkeeper Haroldo Chaves to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Haroldo Chaves made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fabinho Arruda in the 55th minute of play. If Kaká Dante had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Diego Borges received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Haroldo Chaves tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some careless play in the Parfrente FC defense, Fabinho Arruda kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Haroldo Chaves. The Parfrente FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Haroldo Chaves should have stopped the shot. Haroldo Chaves came out of the goal in the 63rd minute to try and stop a shot by MelissaMel's Diego Borges. Mazinho Queiroz helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of MelissaMel booed when Parfrente FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mazinho Queiroz didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 73rd minute of the match Emerson Chaves shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Haroldo Chaves showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Parfrente FC's Haroldo Chaves played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Diego Borges in the 80th minute of play. Haroldo Chaves showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dagoberto Fonseca, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. After 83 minutes of play, MelissaMel's Fabinho Arruda made it 4-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Haroldo Chaves was left in no man's land by his defense there! Kaká Dante recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Murilo Alcântaras short, quick shot in the 90thth minute got Ramón Toscano to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. 92 minutes into the game, Emerson Chaves was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. MelissaMel's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Parfrente FC the free kick. A collision led to MelissaMel getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Emerson Chaves hit a great ball. In the 93rd minute of the match Válbson Breckenfeld shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ramón Toscano showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After 94 minutes, Willian Meireles mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the MelissaMel and the Parfrente FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After having played for 96 minutes, Murilo Alcântara managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Parfrente FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Murilo Alcântara was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
