Tony Vandenberge made a fantastic save in the 25th minute, when Jefferson Damião sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marian Kapinos in the 26th minute of play forced RWDM's goalkeeper Tony Vandenberge to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Neno Ruychev in the 48th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tony Vandenberge saved RWDM from getting behind. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jorre Van der Voert stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 58thth minute of the game Zé da Fonseca who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but RWDM's Tony Vandenberge was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball.
