Cornelio Cordearo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Juan Carlos Almada in the 24th minute of play. Miroslaw Jajecznica's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ignacio Vidanes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 28th minute of play. Luciano Pirro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal.
