Barbieri Sports's Breno Vergílio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edgardo Silva in the 13th minute of play. Victorino Giraldo charged in rather forcefully in the 14th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Victorino Giraldo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Barbieri Sports's Victorino Giraldo got a free kick in the 14th minute. Barbieri Sports's Breno Vergílio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edgardo Silva in the 19th minute of play. 20 minutes into the match, Tio Lio had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Breno Vergílio. Barbieri Sports's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Tio Lio was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. Jeremy Nicholas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dennis Bergkamp, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 23rdth minute of the game Dennis Bergkamp who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but New England Minas's Jeremy Nicholas was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Jeremy Nicholas stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dennis Bergkamp's shot from short distance in the 23rd minute. In the 24th minute of the match Barbieri Sports got a corner. New England Minas's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Benjamin da Mata ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Barbieri Sports's Benjamin da Mata to fire away a dangerous shot which Jeremy Nicholas despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. The supporters of New England Minas booed when Barbieri Sports was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Benjamin da Mata didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 37 minutes of play, New England Minas's Tio Lio made it 1-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Breno Vergílio was left in no man's land by his defense there! Boruc Sokolski sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Dennis Bergkamp made a kick off. New England Minas's Jeremy Nicholas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Victorino Giraldo in the 51st minute of play. Tio Lio could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 54th minute of the match, but Breno Vergílio made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Boruc Sokolski in the 55th minute of play forced New England Minas's goalkeeper Jeremy Nicholas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tio Lio in the 57th minute of play forced Barbieri Sports's goalkeeper Breno Vergílio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 62nd minute Oscar Nordmark shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Breno Vergílio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Raphael Alvarenga kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. Benjamin da Mata might have been able to make a better finish in the 82nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jeremy Nicholas. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Benjamin da Mata ran back to his position shaking his head. New England Minas's Jeremy Nicholas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Boruc Sokolski in the 85th minute of play. Jeremy Nicholas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Benjamin da Mata, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Edgardo Silva got free with Breno Vergílio in the 91st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. António Nóbrega hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. In the 95th minute, Dennis Bergkamp ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jeremy Nicholas was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-6. The New England Minas players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
