Egídio Salgado made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nicu Vornicu in the 7th minute. 9 minutes had been played when some careless play by ⚽ VILA REAL F.ᑕ. MOC ⚽'s defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Niclas Ivarsson was slow to take the kick. During this time Anversa Club's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Anversa Club's Niclas Ivarsson to fire away a dangerous shot which Egídio Salgado despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. The audience was convinced that Alberto Spencer's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Waut Van Der Meeren was relentless in the 11th minute of the game. In the 12th minute, Guust Heirremans hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After recieving a nice pass, ⚽ VILA REAL F.ᑕ. Anversa Club's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Niclas Ivarsson in the 16th minute. The corner led Anversa Club's Niclas Ivarsson to fire away a dangerous shot which Egídio Salgado despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Claudio García recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 17th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Domenico Faieta in the 22nd minute of play forced Anversa Club's goalkeeper Waut Van Der Meeren to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Domenico Faieta scored 0-1 in the 24th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Waut Van Der Meeren, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Nicu Vornicu's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Egídio Salgado firmly grabbed it by the left post. Anversa Club were awarded a corner in the 28th minute after ⚽ VILA REAL F.ᑕ. MOC ⚽'s defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Niclas Ivarsson took the corner. A nice corner shot did that Niclas Ivarsson got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Egídio Salgado quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. When Claudio García came up free with the goalie in the 30th minute, the Anversa Club fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Claudio García couldn't finish the play. Domenico Faieta's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Waut Van Der Meeren read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 37th minute of play. ⚽ VILA REAL F.ᑕ. MOC ⚽'s Egídio Salgado proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 41st minute of the match, managed to save ⚽ VILA REAL F.ᑕ. MOC ⚽ from getting a goal against them. Anversa Club were awarded a corner in the 42th minute after ⚽ VILA REAL F.ᑕ. MOC ⚽'s defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Niclas Ivarsson took the corner. The corner led Anversa Club's Roman Procházka to fire away a dangerous shot which Egídio Salgado despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 46th minute, Alberto Spencer managed to get in a good position for a shot. ⚽ VILA REAL F.ᑕ. MOC ⚽'s supporters rose to their feet, but Alberto Spencer was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Waut Van Der Meeren breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Reiner Fallas's late challenge caught a ⚽ VILA REAL F.ᑕ. MOC ⚽'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Reiner Fallas helped the player get up and apologised. Guust Heirremans hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. It was a well-played corner which Israel Frascuelo managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Nicu Vornicu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Egídio Salgado read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 59th minute of play. Egídio Salgado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nicu Vornicu in the 61st minute of play. In the 64th minute of the match Anversa Club got a corner. ⚽ VILA REAL F.ᑕ. MOC ⚽'s goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Niclas Ivarsson ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Claudio García almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but ⚽ VILA REAL F.ᑕ. MOC ⚽'s Egídio Salgado did a great save. When Anversa Club's Claudio García in the 64th minute got a chance for a shot 64th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye ⚽ VILA REAL F.ᑕ. In the 70thth minute of the game Nicu Vornicu who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but ⚽ VILA REAL F.ᑕ. MOC ⚽'s Egídio Salgado was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Zé Augusto Secco took the ball and in the 72 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Waut Van Der Meeren. Waut Van Der Meeren dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. Egídio Salgado stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Nicu Vornicu's shot from short distance in the 78th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Alberto Spencer kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Waut Van Der Meeren. That made the score 1-4 in the 80 minute of play. The throw-in from Felipe Valladares in the 82nd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Anversa Club's Winarto Songgonau. 85 minutes into the match, Anversa Club's Claudio García sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Egídio Salgado narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The corner led Anversa Club's Niclas Ivarsson to fire away a dangerous shot which Egídio Salgado despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. 93 minutes had been played when some careless play by ⚽ VILA REAL F.ᑕ. The Anversa Club players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
