Alberto Spencer started the match with the kick off. Waut Van Der Meeren made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Israel Frascuelo in the 5th minute of play. With a little luck, ⚽ VILA REAL F.ᑕ. MOC ⚽'s Egídio Salgado got control of the ball when Winarto Songgonau tried to sneak it across the goal line. Reiner Fallas could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 16th minute of the match, but Egídio Salgado made a huge save. Waut Van Der Meeren showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Domenico Faieta, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. After 18 minutes of play, ⚽ VILA REAL F.ᑕ. MOC ⚽'s Domenico Faieta made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Waut Van Der Meeren was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 22ndth minute of the game Alberto Spencer who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Anversa Club's Waut Van Der Meeren was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zé Augusto Secco in the 26th minute of play forced Anversa Club's goalkeeper Waut Van Der Meeren to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Anversa Club getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Claudio García hit a great ball. The corner ended in Dida Bittencourt almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Anversa Club's Waut Van Der Meeren did a great save. Anversa Club's Nicu Vornicu got a good chance for a goal in the 33rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 35th minute, Alberto Spencer ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Waut Van Der Meeren was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Waut Van Der Meeren stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Domenico Faieta's shot from short distance in the 44th minute. Reiner Fallas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 48th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Winarto Songgonau was the one to do the kick off. Winarto Songgonau scored 1-2 in the 53rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Egídio Salgado, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Zé Augusto Secco during the 56th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Anversa Club booed when ⚽ VILA REAL F.ᑕ. Serhan Mehmet ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Anversa Club's Serhan Mehmet to fire away a dangerous shot which Egídio Salgado despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 72nd minute the ball was on its way in behind ⚽ VILA REAL F.ᑕ. MOC ⚽'s goalkeeper Egídio Salgado, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar.
