An unexpectedly hard shot by Luca Postelnicescu in the 15th minute of play forced Orxata I Fartons's goalkeeper Janich Sodborg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Janich Sodborg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cléber Basso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 18th match minute, Orxata I Fartons was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ilmar Pregel to maneuver through the defense. Vila Nova FC's Fiori Mota proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 22nd minute of the match, managed to save Vila Nova FC from getting a goal against them. The whistle blew for the end of the second half and the match was still tied. The players were able to take a short break before lining up again for extra-time.

Jiang Nan Han scored 1-2 in the 99th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Janich Sodborg, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The Vila Nova FC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
