Italy's Bruno Antognoni proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 26th minute of the match, managed to save Italy from getting a goal against them. Rui Costa struck a weak shot in the 29th minute. Peter Schmeichel didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Italy. Dariusz Wos blasted a shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Bruno Antognoni having to make a save. When A.C. Armando Natalucci took the ball and in the 83 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Peter Schmeichel. Peter Schmeichel dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. The audience was convinced that Aldo Di Carlo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Bruno Antognoni was relentless in the 86th minute of the game. Bruno Antognoni took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gustav Siöman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 89 minutes into the match, Armando Natalucci notched a goal, 1-3, to the right of A.C. Patagonia's Peter Schmeichel. Peter Schmeichel was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Aldo Di Carlo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Bruno Antognoni showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gustav Siöman in the 95th minute of the match. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Italy had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
