They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

FC Barcelona Lassa's Theo Fil played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Augusto Cordario in the 51st minute of play. Velez Sarsfield were awarded a corner in the 52th minute after FC Barcelona Lassa's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Ignacio Berenguer took the corner. The corner ended in Ronan Mistral almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but FC Barcelona Lassa's Theo Fil did a great save. Velez Sarsfield's Olliver Van Meirhaeghe got a good chance for a goal in the 57th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 60 minutes into the match, FC Barcelona Lassa's goal looked a bit too open when Augusto Cordario came free, but Theo Fil reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tobiasz Dubiel was slow to take the kick. During this time FC Barcelona Lassa's players had a chance to rest. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
