Fedele Scirea sent away a hard shot on goal in the 3rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Fedele Scirea scored 0-1 in the 5th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Diamantino Catarinense, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 8th minute Fedele Scirea shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Diamantino Catarinense saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 14 minutes into the match, Guará FC's goal looked a bit too open when Fedele Scirea came free, but Diamantino Catarinense reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Rômulo de Sena had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Diamantino Catarinense stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Fedele Scirea's shot from short distance in the 18th minute. After a rather tough play, Guará FC's Eliézer Eger got a free kick in the 21st minute. Diamantino Catarinense took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fedele Scirea, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Diamantino Catarinense made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fedele Scirea in the 31st minute of play. 34 minutes into the match, Gino do Vale had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Delmiro Rosalio. Set Fire's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gino do Vale was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. A collision led to Guará FC getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Gino do Vale hit a great ball. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The wind increased when Fedele Scirea made the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Paulo Renato Marinho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Fedele Scirea could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 54th minute of the match, but Diamantino Catarinense made a huge save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Fedele Scirea in the 58th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Diamantino Catarinense saved Guará FC from getting behind. Fedele Scirea could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 63rd minute of the match, but Diamantino Catarinense made a huge save. After a rather tough play, Set Fire's Flavio Jaka Jamba got a free kick in the 66th minute. When the match had gone on for 68 minutes, Fedele Scirea took a quick shot and it went in 1-2 without a chance for Diamantino Catarinense to make any attempt to save it. A very good chance. 77 minutes into the match, Set Fire's goal looked a bit too open when Ivo Figueiredo came free, but Delmiro Rosalio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fedele Scirea took the ball and in the 80 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Diamantino Catarinense. Diamantino Catarinense dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. The supporters of Guará FC booed when Set Fire was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hélio Cunha didn't get a good kick on the ball. Diamantino Catarinense took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fedele Scirea, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Diamantino Catarinense made an important save on a dangerous shot by Fedele Scirea in the 88th minute. Fedele Scirea recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 91st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Set Fire eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
