After 41 minutes Los Materos FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Tomás Mazza who took care of the corner kick. Nova Iguaçu MZFC's Horaţiu Măcrinici was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Lazaros Kabantais in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. A sloppy throw-in by Tomás Mazza in the 44th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Los Materos FC's Cornelio Quilo. Mickaël Maris made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tincho Palermo in the 45th minute of play.

The wind increased when Horaţiu Măcrinici made the kick off in the second half.
