The audience thought a goal was coming when Adrian Bagge got free with Yassine Bounou in the 23rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Yala's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Hawelka Himalayan High's Urban Stolpe slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Yassine Bounou. That made the score 2-0 after 35 minutes of play. In the 42nd minute, Norberto Erramu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Fredrik Bäckström took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Omar Montes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Niki Bundev stepped up to make the kick off in the second half.
