The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 2nd minute Karim Cosme shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Robinho Alcântara saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rathmore Lime Tree were awarded a corner in the 4th minute after Cachaceiros FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Jim Belloir took the corner. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Cachaceiros FC's goalie and right to Paul-Henri Gayraud. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Cachaceiros FC's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. In the 6th minute, Rathmore Lime Tree's Karim Cosme ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Robinho Alcântara. Robinho Alcântara yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. When Christophe Reibel fell near the penalty area in the 9th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Rathmore Lime Tree's protests and gave Christophe Reibel a yellow card for diving instead. After 9 played minutes Rathmore Lime Tree got a freekick which was hit by Christophe Reibel. 10 minutes into the match, Rathmore Lime Tree's goal looked a bit too open when Ruy Azevedo came free, but Jordan Laforgue reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Robinho Alcântara didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Adil Magaud went, in the 11th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. Rathmore Lime Tree's Jordan Laforgue played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Osmar Santos in the 22nd minute of play. Robinho Alcântara made a fantastic save in the 24th minute, when Adil Magaud sent off a good shot on target. Cachaceiros FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 24th minute, when Adil Magaud scored to the left of an out of position Robinho Alcântara, making the score, 3-0. After 28 played minutes Cachaceiros FC got a freekick which was hit by Yan Salgado. When Karim Cosme came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the Rathmore Lime Tree fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Karim Cosme couldn't finish the play. It was beautiful to see Cachaceiros FC's Yan Salgado in action when he in the 44th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! After a defensive mix-up in Cachaceiros FC's zone, Adil Magaud stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Robinho Alcântara came out of the goal and Adil Magaud tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Rathmore Lime Tree's Georges Labarthe was substituted for Paul-Henri Gayraud. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ruy Azevedo made a kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Cachaceiros FC's zone, Karim Cosme stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Robinho Alcântara came out of the goal and Karim Cosme tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Rathmore Lime Tree's Fernand Rouland was substituted for Karim Cosme. 61 minutes into the match, Rathmore Lime Tree's Fernand Rouland sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Robinho Alcântara narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 67 played minutes Cachaceiros FC got a freekick which was hit by Fernando Rocha. Adil Magaud's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Robinho Alcântara read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 74th minute of play. 81 minutes into the match, Fernand Rouland notched a goal, 4-0, to the right of Cachaceiros FC's Robinho Alcântara. Robinho Alcântara was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 84th minute Fernand Rouland shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Robinho Alcântara saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Cachaceiros FC's Yan Salgado got a free kick in the 85th minute. After some careless play in the Cachaceiros FC defense, Fernand Rouland kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Robinho Alcântara. The Cachaceiros FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Robinho Alcântara should have stopped the shot. In the 91st minute, Adil Magaud got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Robinho Alcântara didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Adil Magaud went, in the 95th minute, to the upper right corner, 6-0 was the resulting score. Rathmore Lime Tree's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
