The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd minute, Sonny Friberger made a precise shot to the right of Ove Vassenius. SSC Ambrosini's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ingvar Sillén in the 15th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jörgen Haegg saved Buksvinens IF from getting behind. 17 minutes into the match, Buksvinens IF's goal looked a bit too open when Gabriel Bäckström came free, but Jörgen Haegg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 19 minutes of play, SSC Ambrosini's Ingvar Sillén made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jörgen Haegg was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 21st match minute, Buksvinens IF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lars Nilsson to maneuver through the defense. Jörgen Haegg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ingvar Sillén, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Buksvinens IF's zone, Sebastian Haegg stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jörgen Haegg came out of the goal and Sebastian Haegg tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 40th minute of the match, Lars Nilsson tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Ove Vassenius saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ingvar Sillén stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Göran Classon kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. Rune Möllgren charged in rather forcefully in the 58th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Rune Möllgren the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of SSC Ambrosini booed when Buksvinens IF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rune Möllgren didn't get a good kick on the ball. Buksvinens IF's Jörgen Haegg proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 60th minute of the match, managed to save Buksvinens IF from getting a goal against them. Ingvar Silléns short, quick shot in the 62ndth minute got Jörgen Haegg to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Jörgen Haegg was out of position in the 63 minute of play, and Ingvar Sillén capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Ingvar Sillén really showed his touch with that goal: 1-2. 76 minutes into the match, SSC Ambrosini's goal looked a bit too open when Niclas Aronsson came free, but Ove Vassenius reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Gabriel Bäckström had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Göran Classon's late challenge caught a SSC Ambrosini's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Göran Classon helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Buksvinens IF getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Göran Classon hit a great ball.
