Ove Vassenius showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luisão Pimenta, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. When Luisão Pimenta came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the Cachaça FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luisão Pimenta couldn't finish the play. Ove Vassenius took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Osvaldinho Fernandes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alf Kullgren hit a great ball. 28 minutes into the match, SSC Ambrosini's goal looked a bit too open when Osvaldo Nascimento came free, but Ove Vassenius reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 29 minutes had been played when some careless play by SSC Ambrosini's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Luisão Pimenta was slow to take the kick. During this time Cachaça FC's players had a chance to rest. Cachaça FC's Luisão Pimenta was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Ove Vassenius in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 33rd match minute, Cachaça FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luisão Pimenta to maneuver through the defense. Cachaça FC's Osvaldinho Fernandes got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ove Vassenius made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Osvaldinho Fernandes in the 41st minute of play. After 42 played minutes SSC Ambrosini got a freekick which was hit by Alf Kullgren. After some fancy dribbling in the 46th minute, Osvaldinho Fernandes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cachaça FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Osvaldinho Fernandes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ove Vassenius breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Cachaça FC's Osvaldo Nascimento got a good chance for a goal in the 48th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Osvaldo Nascimento made the kick off in the second half. Osvaldinho Fernandes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 55th minute the ball was on its way in behind Cachaça FC's goalkeeper Ernesto de Godoi, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Ernesto de Godoi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 76 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Cachaça FC! Luís Fernando Vaz's late challenge caught a SSC Ambrosini's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. The Cachaça FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3.
