Martín Palermo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 8th minute of the match, but Iker Medina made a huge save. In the 9th minute, Metal Juniors's Martín Palermo ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Iker Medina. Iker Medina yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. A throw-in in the 14th minute of the game was made by Pablo Urki with Silverio Medardo as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. In the 16th minute, Pablo Urki hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of TALLERES booed when Metal Juniors was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adalberto Custódio didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 21st minute Nemesio Isusko shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Iker Medina saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Metal Juniors's Francisco Nesor played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Maciej Karwowski in the 22nd minute of play. Francisco Nesor made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Silverio Medardo in the 27th minute of play. Martín Palermo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Iker Medina read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 28th minute of play. After 31 minutes, Melker Flink mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Metal Juniors and the TALLERES players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 31st match minute, Metal Juniors was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Melker Flink to maneuver through the defense. Roque George struck a weak shot in the 32nd minute. Francisco Nesor didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for TALLERES. 37 minutes in the game Pablo Urki did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Silverio Medardo. Iker Medina was out of position in the 45 minute of play, and Martín Palermo capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Martín Palermo really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. After 48 minutes of play, Metal Juniors's Martín Palermo made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Iker Medina was left in no man's land by his defense there! No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Martín Palermo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 54 minutes into the game, Alonzo Daunte was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. TALLERES's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Metal Juniors the free kick. A collision led to TALLERES getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Alonzo Daunte hit a great ball. When Martín Palermo came up free with the goalie in the 55th minute, the Metal Juniors fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Martín Palermo couldn't finish the play. Francisco Nesor made a fantastic save in the 56th minute, when Jose Katia sent off a good shot on target. 58 minutes into the match, TALLERES's goal looked a bit too open when Leopoldo Itzaina came free, but Iker Medina reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Martín Palermo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Iker Medina was relentless in the 65th minute of the game. Metal Juniors's Miguel Sotero was substituted for Nemesio Isusko. The supporters of Metal Juniors booed when TALLERES was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Julián Maidana didn't get a good kick on the ball. Iker Medina took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sergio Dennis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jose Katia could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 81st minute of the match, but Francisco Nesor made a huge save. Sergio Dennis might have been able to make a better finish in the 83rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Iker Medina. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Sergio Dennis ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sergio Dennis in the 83rd minute of play forced TALLERES's goalkeeper Iker Medina to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Iker Medina stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Sergio Dennis's shot from short distance in the 85th minute. In the 87th minute Maciej Karwowski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Francisco Nesor saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Metal Juniors's Francisco Nesor got control of the ball when Maciej Karwowski tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a rather tough play, Metal Juniors's Haroldo Nayely got a free kick in the 95th minute. Alonzo Daunte, 97 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Sergio Dennis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 99th minute. Iker Medina tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
