But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Venancio Musko couldn't finish the play. 21 minutes into the match, Progresul Pitesti's goal looked a bit too open when Venancio Musko came free, but Martin Tudor reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Karol Czempa received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Saul Erauso came out and tried to block the shot, but Karol Czempa slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 47th minute. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Atlético Unión Florida's Saul Erauso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Karol Czempa in the 54th minute of play. The referee showed Vasile Blănaru the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Narciso Rufo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Venancio Musko had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Narciso Rufo scored 2-2 in the 94th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Martin Tudor, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.
