Florencio Rafe could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 10th minute of the match, but José Luis Chilavert made a huge save. 12 minutes into the match, Ballet Azul's goal looked a bit too open when Hans-Martin Istad came free, but José Luis Chilavert reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. José Luis Chilavert showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Florencio Rafe, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Esequiel Dohrmann in the 15th minute of play forced Masters United F.C.'s goalkeeper Enrique Bologna to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. This resulted in a 2-0 score and a disappointed José Luis Chilavert as he didn't even see the shot coming. In the 30th minute of the match, Hans-Martin Istad tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but José Luis Chilavert saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. José Luis Chilavert made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hans-Martin Istad in the 40th minute of play. Enrique Bologna showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eulalio Callejas in the 44th minute of the match. The supporters of Masters United F.C. booed when Ballet Azul was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eladio Ulloa didn't get a good kick on the ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Florencio Rafe to make the kick off. Saverio Teofilio might have been able to make a better finish in the 52nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over José Luis Chilavert. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Saverio Teofilio ran back to his position shaking his head. José Luis Chilavert showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Florencio Rafe in the 60th minute of the match. 61 minutes into the match, Ballet Azul's goal looked a bit too open when Hans-Martin Istad came free, but José Luis Chilavert reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 62 minutes into the game, Florencio Rafe cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-0. Ballet Azul's José Luis Chilavert played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Saverio Teofilio in the 89th minute of play.
