The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Oscar Vidal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carlo Mandelli, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. In the 13th minute, Carlos Eduardo Gaúcho ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Alberto Giorda was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. After 15 played minutes Merceron United got a freekick which was hit by Dario Briano. Through an outstanding action, after 17 minutes, Alberto Giorda successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After 19 minutes, Flavio Corvi mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Merceron United and the C.R.FlaBrasília players grew even worse after the yellow card. Carlo Mandelli struck a weak shot in the 26th minute. Oscar Vidal didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Merceron United. Merceron United's Alberto Giorda played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Humberto Montenegro in the 32nd minute of play. During the 38th minute of the match Dario Briano completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Dario Briano a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 39th minute, Dario Briano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tostão Meireles hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Carlo Mandelli to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute, Carlo Mandelli got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Carlo Mandelli had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 57th match minute, Merceron United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cristoforo Muzzolon to maneuver through the defense. Alberto Giorda showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carlos Eduardo Gaúcho in the 69th minute of the match. After 80 played minutes, C.R.FlaBrasília's Luiz Fernando Lara shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Alberto Giorda came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in C.R.FlaBrasília reached it. In the 84th match minute, Merceron United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cristoforo Muzzolon to maneuver through the defense. Tostão Meireles hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. In the 95th match minute, Merceron United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carlo Mandelli to maneuver through the defense. When the referee ended the match the C.R.FlaBrasília players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
