The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Juan das Neves couldn't finish the play. A collision led to ZONA NOROESTE - SANTOS getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Osvaldinho Corrêa hit a great ball. 10 minutes into the match, CARDANO's Juan das Neves sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Cássio Gaspar narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 12 minutes into the match, Juan das Neves had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Cássio Gaspar. ZONA NOROESTE - SANTOS's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Juan das Neves was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. ZONA NOROESTE - SANTOS's André Luís Nunes got a good chance for a goal in the 27th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 32nd minute, ZONA NOROESTE - SANTOS's André Luís Nunes ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind André Luís Cordeiro. André Luís Cordeiro yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. After a very even first half the match was still tied. After a rather tough play, ZONA NOROESTE - SANTOS's André Luís Nunes got a free kick in the 52nd minute. After 55 minutes, Juan das Neves mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the CARDANO and the ZONA NOROESTE - SANTOS players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 55th match minute, CARDANO was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Juan das Neves to maneuver through the defense. André Luís Nunes charged in rather forcefully in the 56th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The supporters of ZONA NOROESTE - SANTOS booed when CARDANO was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Baltazar Terra didn't get a good kick on the ball. CARDANO's André Luís Cordeiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by André Luís Nunes in the 71st minute of play. Juan das Neves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Manuel Vianna's late challenge caught a ZONA NOROESTE - SANTOS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Manuel Vianna helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, CARDANO's Manuel Vianna got a free kick in the 80th minute. In a very dangerous position, a player in ZONA NOROESTE - SANTOS fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 85th minute. Penalty! Juan das Neves received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Cássio Gaspar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 99th minute, Juan das Neves made a precise shot to the right of Cássio Gaspar. ZONA NOROESTE - SANTOS's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-3. When the final whistle went the supporters of CARDANO were delighted that their team had defeated the much more dominant ZONA NOROESTE - SANTOS side.
